I first saw Monty in a pet shop when he was about 12 weeks old. He had apparently been hand reared and was described by the pet shop as 'cuddly tame'. I fell for him when i approached his cage and he immediatly bobbed his head to be stroked, then jumped on his swing. I went home, thought about this little bird most of the night and went back next day and bought him. I decided to call him Monty after Monty Burns in the simpsons!! ( it was M.B.s nose and my montys beak) lol

Monty was my bird from the start, in fact he wouldn't allow anyone else to touch him for quite some time. One day though I caught him looking across the room at my son and shaking his wings....next thing Monty had left my shoulder and was with my son. After that I couldn't go near him for ages, he would bite and run, It was upsetting at the time. So attached was Monty to my son that when he left home I had to let him take the bird with him for fear it would fret.

Montys return came when my son had problems at the place he was living. Fearful for the birds health and sanity at the possibility of moving around so much I insisted that he came back to me and this is where he stays, although he still prefers my partner over me. I am only favourite until partner is home from work.Update 8th January 2006... Monty has decided he doesn't like me almost at all anymore and pretty much hates me going near his cage unless I carry chips or toast!
